Bio
I am married with two boys and a black lab named Jasper. I enjoy watching and playing sports and try to get outside to play whenever possible. Some of my activities include rock climbing, racquetball, mountaineering, and skiing. I also love music and camping.
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Denver and received my masters in social work from the University of Denver. Initially, my clinical focus was family therapy. Upon graduation, I received advanced, post-masters education from the Denver Family Institute to help me hone my family therapy skills and benefit from fantastic supervision in this area of practice. I worked at a number of different agencies where I was able to further develop these skills, as well as gain a great deal of experience working with various trauma, substance abuse, depression and anxiety patients. I became versed in other treatment modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-focused Therapy, and Jungian process work.
Currently, the majority of my attention is devoted to working with my clients at my office; however, I also cycle through teaching family therapy techniques and skills at the University of Denver, supervising masters-leveled students at the University of Colorado, or providing clinical consultation for organizations such as the Kempe Center. I have continued to engage in advanced trainings in couples work with the Gottman Institute and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
